Machynys Peninsula Golf Course
The project involves a full planning application for over 10 hectares of engineering works including flood attenuation measures and land profile remodelling adjacent to the existing Golf Course and the Lougher Estuary. The project includes significant ecological mitigation and enhancement measures with the creation of a new wetland area and other habitats. An outline planning application is also submitted for a 7 hectare residential development (189 units) on part of the site. Both applications involved significant pre and post-application discussion with the Environment Agency, Countryside Council for Wales and Carmarthenshire County Council to ensure that the scheme design and supporting studies addressed their expectations.
