Blaenavon Integrated Community Campus
Powell Dobson Urbanists have been commissioned to provide planning consultancy services including master-planning on behalf of Torfaen CBC for the redevelopment of the former Blaenavon Recreation Centre site. The site is proposed to be redeveloped for education, sports facilities and a Primary Care Resource Centre. PDU is presenting the scheme to the DCfW in September prior to an outline planning application being submitted. The proposal is supported by a package of supplementary studies (ecology, transportation, visual impact etc.) which PDU is managing for the planning submission. PDA has previously undertaken detailed design work for the education element of the scheme which then informed the orientation and land-take requirements for that part of the masterplan.
