Monmouthshire Democratic Centre, Usk
The Urbanists were appointed to manage and co-ordinate the planning approach and submissions to secure reserved matters permissions and the discharge of conditions for a new Democratic Centre for Monmouthshire County Council. The proposal comprised a new building (following demolitions) and extensive landscape works, access and parking, plus flood mitigation works.
The development and planning approach required full consideration of the highly sensitive nature of the site in terms of flooding, ecological and landscape impacts, protected trees, and lighting. It required close working with both MCC Planning team and the Countryside Council for Wales and the Environment Agency.
