The University's vision is to build on its reputation as a world-leading institution with the development of a new centre for teaching and research totalling 60,000sqm of new development. The masterplan, for the future development of former railway sidings site in the Cathays area of Cardiff, will provide a contextual framework for future development for the next 10-15 years.
The Urbanists, alongside Powell Dobson Architects, developed a masterplan focused around three key public spaces which will create a sense of place and identity for this significant new development.
We supported the University through a series of resident liaison meetings to keep local residents informed and involved in the design of the scheme and prepared a Design and Access Statement to accompany an outline planning application for the development.
